CURRENT SENSOR – ZCS-NC
Ref: ZCS-NC
The ZCS-NC Current Sensor provides non-contact current measurement without any electrical connection to the circuit. Designed for use with the Zensol Dual Grounding Kit, it monitors the current flowing through a circuit breaker contact during the closing operation, detecting when current begins to flow and providing a proportional voltage signal to the measurement system.
The sensor installs directly around the conductor being measured, so there is no need to wire into or modify the live circuit. As current flows through the conductor, it creates a magnetic field that the ZCS-NC detects and converts into a 0–10 VDC output proportional to the measured current.
This allows the measurement system to clearly capture when current starts flowing and how it behaves from that moment on.
The ZCS-NC operates from a 10 VDC power supply and can be used for both AC and DC current measurement. For AC measurements, zero current is calibrated at 5 V, allowing both the positive and negative halves of the waveform to be captured within the 0–10 V output range.
The sensor can also be used independently of the Dual Grounding Kit. Because its measurement is based on the magnetic field generated by the current, the sensor is calibrated on the conductor being measured. This accounts for the size and geometry of the conductor and converts the sensor output into a meaningful current value for the application.
Compact and lightweight, the ZCS-NC Current Sensor can be installed around conductors of different shapes and sizes, providing a practical solution wherever current needs to be monitored without making an electrical connection to the circuit.
