OPENZEN-TAP SOFTWARE – ADVANCED OLTC DIAGNOSTICS 

OpenZen-TAP is Zensol’s dedicated software for the TAP-4 On-Load Tap Changer (OLTC) analyzer. It records and analyzes OLTC operating events using Zensol’s high-frequency vibro-acoustic diagnostic technology.

The software provides calculation and graphical tools to create reference tests and compare new recordings against previous measurements. This comparison-based approach helps maintenance specialists identify changes in OLTC operating signatures and investigate abnormal behavior.

OpenZen-TAP is built around high-frequency acquisition, with 100 kHz sampling and 10 µs sampling time. This enables the system to capture vibration phenomena that may not be visible with conventional lower-frequency measurements.

The software includes a reference database covering more than 70 OLTC models, providing an additional resource for interpreting measured signatures. The TAP-4 solution can be used on different transformer types and supports both online and offline, non-intrusive testing.
